Guimarães: Capital of Culture launches art and creativity platform
Entitled “Iberia Ten Years On”, the performance brings together Manuel d’Oliveira, Carles Benavent and Jorge Pardo.
In commemoration of the tenth anniversary of his landmark work “Iberia,” Manuel d’Oliveira takes the stage on Saturday to launch the new Arts and Creativity Platform under the auspices of Guimarães, European Capital of Culture.
The concert also commemorates the event’s Musical Platform with a series of seven performances until August 5th.
Entitled “Iberia Ten Years On”, the performance brings together Manuel d’Oliveira, Carles Benavent and Jorge Pardo for a new interpretation of musical works combining fado, jazz and flamenco with other popular Portuguese styles to form an ecclectic cultural mix.
