German CSU leader: Portugal “on the right track”

The chairwoman of Germany’s CSU parliamentary group said in Lisbon on Wednesday that Portugal was on the right track to resolving its crisis but warned there was still a long way to go.

We want to support Portugal on this path and show recognition for what has already been done”, Gerda Hasselfeldt told reporters after a meeting with Portuguese President Anibal Cavaco Silva.

  1. Here’s my take on what this guy just said.

Mr. Germany “We will support Portugal by making sure that its debt to gdp ratio will increase exponentially. Furthermore, we will work tirelessly to increase its unemployment, while striving to block any increase in funding for prosperity creation schemes. Lastly, we will send in our people during this time of chaos to make sure we own this country’s resources, either directly or indirectly via subsidiaries or industries in which we are highly invested in, including our banks, after all we are the new German State and everyone must do as we say and like it in the name of European Unity”

  2. Two mistakes:

The name of the politician is “Gerda Hasselfeldt”, not “Gerda Haffelseldt”

And she is not the “leader of German government coalition party CSU”, Horst Seehofer is the current leader:
