Foreign affairs: Portas begins four-day Turkey visit
The four-day visit kicks off in Ankara with a dinner meeting with Portuguese business leaders and the local Portuguese community which will be attended by Turkey’s Minister of Economy Mehmet Zafer Çaglayan, according to the Ministry for Foreign Affairs press release.
Portuguese Minister for Foreign Affairs Paulo Portas begins an official visit to Turkey Monday, 2 April, after participating in the international, pro-opposition “Friends of Syria” meeting in Istanbul at the weekend.
The four-day visit kicks off in Ankara with a dinner meeting with Portuguese business leaders and the local Portuguese community which will be attended by Turkey’s Economy Minister Mehmet Zafer Çaglayan, according to a press release from Portugal’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
During his stay in the Turkish capital, Portas will hold talks with a series of senior officials, including President Abdullah Gul.
Portas, who leads Lisbon’s “economic diplomacy” offensive, is accompanied on his trip by a delegation of some 20 business leaders.
