Bank of Portugal: Troika agreement going “splendidly”, says governor

Bank of Portugal (BdP) governor Carlos Costa said on Monday that the agreement between Portugal and the bailout troika was running “splendidly”. He was talking to reporters after a meeting with president Anibal Cavaco Silva.

“The BdP is doing its job, the agreement is going well and we expect the third review at the end of February to go smoothly”, he said.

The governor of the central bank met with Cavaco Silva for about an hour to “review how the memorandum of understanding was going regarding financial stability”, Costa said.
