Paulo Portas, Portugal’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, began a two-day visit to Angola on Tuesday, 17 July, when he is due to hold a series of meetings including with Carlos Feijó, Head of the President’s Office and Economy Minister Manuel Vicente.
Portas will also be attending the Luanda International Trade Fair where Portugal holds the biggest pavilion among the 23 states making their presence.
His visit begins on the day the International Monetary Fund reported that Angola’s economic expansion was beginning to pick up speed even though there remained significant risk due to the extent of its exposure to international oil prices.
